In 1995, Dan O'Donnell and Jacki O'Donnell Mobley, great grand children of John, traced his origins to Hilton Park estate near Clones, Ireland, owned by Maj. Johnny Madden, a direct descendant of the owner of the estate at the time of John's birth. Maj. Madden stated that he believed all of the estate records were in the National Archives of Northern Ireland, in Belfast.
